G.E.A.R.´s Background
G.E.A.R. (Guidance in Engineering and Academic Resources) is a non-profit organization established to enhance the academic and social experience of students at SDU. It was founded by two Mechatronics students who recognized the need for a more vibrant student life, quality study environments, and better equipment for students in Sønderborg.
Creation of G.E.A.R.
The journey began when these students, who were also the Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of Handels-kolleegiet (HK) dorm, encountered limitations on hosting events for non-residents. To overcome this, they created HKC to provide a space for social gatherings, learning, and games. The success of HKC quickly gained attention, and with a growing membership and successful event portfolio, the founders saw an opportunity to expand their vision further.
G.E.A.R. was born from this vision, aiming to provide students with opportunities to grow beyond their academic studies.
Our Goal
Our goal is to create a vibrant space where students can grow beyond their academic studies together. While we offer valuable insights into industry best practices and current trends to help prepare students for their future careers, our primary focus is on fostering a strong sense of community.
We are dedicated to building a unified environment where students from different courses can connect, network, and enjoy themselves. Through a diverse range of events, we ensure that every G.E.A.R. member finds a community where they truly belong.
